It all begins in a garden…
In the early years it was trying to convert a tiny, backyard in suburbia to a floral oasis that included my two-year-old’s own garden box. To now – space to grow and instilling the need for dirt and flowers to my right-hand gal, garden partner and daughter. The joy of sharing and growing flowers is a joint endeavor. Georgi and I believe strongly in “to plant is to hope for the future”.
A few years ago when we decided to kick it up a notch out in the garden, it was a running joke of “just one more” plant we wanted to try and grow. Little did we realize the connecting power of sharing our love of the garden would be. And what started as a way for mother and daughter to connect over flowers, grew to become a way to connect us, on a much larger scale. It opened a community that was itching for an opportunity to engage. And as things naturally progressed, we felt a pull to share this joy that we knew from the garden and combine our talents and open up our little flower production to include wedding and event flowers. Surprised by just how much demand and desire there was for fresh, local flowers, we soon found our schedules filling up, overwhelmed by the encouragement of people around us who receive joy from the spot of sunshine our little flower farm produces.
Together mom (Esther) and daughter (Georgi), with the occasional appearance of one of our farm boys, make up Tanderhoeve. It’s just us. Every thing in the garden has our personal touch, we really have gotten to know each bloom and bud. Our desire is to share the garden with you! If you have an event, wedding, are looking for a bulk product that’s sourced locally, or just want to buy a bouquet, we’d love to hear from you.
